The North Puget Sound Chapter of the Pacific Northwest Association of Church Libraries (PNACL) invites you to attend their annual conference June 21-22, 2024. The conference will be hosted by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The beautiful historic church sits in the heart of Bellingham and is near an overlook to Bellingham Bay. The church is proud of the lovely libraries which house in-depth collections of adult, teen, and children’s books.

The conference begins with registration at 4:30 pm Friday and continues through Saturday, winding up around 4:30 pm.

Welcoming keynote speaker Rev. Susan Creighton

The Rev. Susan Creighton is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Olympia. Ordained in 1981, she served in monastic, parish, and campus settings prior to her consecration as an Anchorite in 2004 by Bishop Warner when she professed vows of Silence, Solitude, and Simplicity.

Raised on a small cattle ranch in Arizona, her earliest awareness of the Holy came through the beauties and mystery of God’s creation. In early adulthood she was drawn to fuller participation in the Episcopal Church and discovered in the scriptures, liturgy, and sacraments a sense of longing, wonder, and awe. Thus began a lifelong spiritual quest which led across cultural, historical, and religious boundaries, but is most significantly shaped and enriched by the teachings of mystics like St. John of the Cross, the patristic writings of the first five centuries, and the ancient tradition of Orthodox theology and spiritual practice. She now focuses her prayer and study around the ascetical and mystical teachings of the Prayer of the Heart.
